A NEW TURBINE STEAMER.
The new turbine steamer Bingera is intended to replace the Barcao,. of the A.US.N. Co.'s line, in the mail service between Brisbane and TownsvilJe. The Bingera was kunohod on' the 14th pf IsM September, at Belfast, by Messrs Workman. Clark and Co., her bui'ders. She is evidently albout the size of the Union line turbine steamer Loongana, being 300 ft long, and a gross tonnage of 2000 tens approximately. The passenger accommodation of the Bingera ia said .to have received special attention, the whole of the 'bridge amd poop apaoe being reserved for the purpose. The first-class dining saloon is placed tt the fore end of the bridge apace, and extends the full breadth, providing accominodatroh for 70 persons. Btate rooms for flrst-olass passenger* are arranged adjoining this saloon, and also in deckhouses on the bridge deck. The accommodation for second-clase is placed aft. including a/dining saloon extending tie breadth of the vessel, with seating accommodation for 60 persons. Tho vessel mil he driven by three Parsons turbines, ensuring a high rate of speed.
