CONFLICTING EVIDENCE. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, November 30. At the La Bella enquiry, Captain Mylius, in his evidence, 6aid he was standing in close to signal for a pilot, intending to stand off again, when a big sea struck the vessel and brought tho ship's head round and carried her into the breakers. Tlie second mate, Robertson, deposed that he was called on deck just before the vessel stnick. The La Bella was going free, and did not broach while he was on deck. Three seamen gave evidence that the ship was not struck by a heavy sea, and did not broach. Pilot Roe said that if a signal liad been mado for the pilot he would have gone out. He could have got to the La Bella before she struck. The enquiry was adjourned.
