AMATEUR ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION.
The Council of the Amateur Athletic Association tjfcet on Wednesday. Present— G. Atack (chairman), T. H Kirk. C. T. Aschmnn (Canterbury), J. E. Green, F. S. Harley (Wellington), G H. Mason and A. L. Stycho (Auckland). T. Alexander and P. M. Mills '(Otago). , , , f „ , Tho Chairman reported that Mr Sandford, who had been elected as secretary, had had to resign tho appointment .ii he bad been transferred . Air J. E. Green had kindly offered to carry out the duties temporarily. Applications for re-instatement by J. M. Marsh (Timaru) aud P. J. Flaherty were granted. A telegram was rend from the Otago Centre acceptiug the championships to be run in March next. The Canterbury Co tit re wrote, stating that they favoured the retention of tho standard caps and badges. Tin. letter wan received. Tho Wellington Centre intimated that a sub-committee had boon appointed to go into tho subject cf organisation. The Centre asked for tho affiliation of the Hutt Valley, Port Nicholson, and V.M.C.A. Aran lour Mhletio Clubs. The Council decided to affiliate tho clubs as requested. The Wairarapa Caledonian Society wrote, ashing for a permit for placing three amateur events on fbeir programme and for the permit fees to bo •rom/itted. Tho matter was -referred back to tho Wellington Centre, a resolution being passed that the Council had no objection to the remission of the fees if the Centre agreed. The question of the appointment of the hon. sec. was discussed, and it was unanimously agreed to ask Mr J. E.
