MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M., presided yesterday nt the Magistnabe's Court. In Acton-Adams and Kippenberger (Mr Cassidy) v Reynolds, plaintiffs sued to recover £9 &, amount of si bill cf costs. Defendant argued that the charges were exorbitant, but after hearing evidence Mr Bishop held that the charges were quite reasonable, and gave judgment for plaintiffs for. tho amount of claim with costs. William Hyde sued Thomas McDonald (Mr C-assidv) to recover £9 10s Id. Plaintiff said he had contracted to do all the plumbing work on two houses built by defendant, who only paid him £8. The amount claimed was tho balance due to him. Tho dispute was as to whether plaintiff w-is engaged by the day or not. After hearing evidence Mr Bishop said tho plaintiff had failed to provo his case, and' Jie gave judgment for defendant with costs.
