(swim, to "thb rarss.*l WELLINGTON, October 31. THE HIGH (XJMMISSJONERtfBIIP. The latest lobby statement is that Mr VV. P. Reeve-*, the present Agent-General, will be New Zealand* first High Commissioner in London nnd that Mr Seddon, whose health now seems quite restored, will remain in the colony and see Sir Joseph Ward through th* next election. Speaking in the House this afternoon, Mr Masaey said the High CommissioiKtship Bill was one of the measure* that the Premier might very well drop if he was anxious to bring the session to a dosa thin week. He was sxtre that not one per cent, of the- people in tho country either wanted the Bill or had asked for it. Mr Seddon roplying to this, made another non-com-mittal statement. He said his one great desire had been to put oaf country forward, and to keep it on a level with other colonies. It had been said that he was an interested party. He could only say that to him duty bad always had the first call, and would have the first call so long as he had any connection with the colony's affaire.
