A. H. FISHER WINS THE FINAL.
(TRESS ASSOCIATION TKLKCJRAM.) DUNKDiN, October 29. Tlio contest between "A. H. Fisher and G. H. MacKwan in the final for the championship was expected to be a keen one. MncEwnn made'a bad start, but he pulled hinwelf togt-ther, and the' two were all Mjuaro at the eighth hole. Fislier's score for the- half round was 41, or on© less than bogey. - At the eleventh hole the scorrs were equal, and they were, the snmo at the eighteenth, MacEwan doing tlw second half of the round in 40. ■In the sertßid round Fisher went off with the lead, and at the sixth hole was 3 up. This advantage he maintained throughout, playing with great confidenceand steadiness, and the game wae, practically over at the fifteenth hole, where Firher was dormie 3. He won the match and the championship by 3 up and 2 to play. He completed the round in 84, and the two rounds in 166, while MecEwah did 35 holes in 163. The winner was heartily applauded.
