General Keller, who was killed at the Yangfe Pass, on August 2nd, in a.letter written to his wife, stated thiat.vrhole regiments were bootless and without uni- . forms, while the sanitary arrangements* were appalling, and confusion was gonsEal. He severely rebuked the officers for their want of gallantry, and said, " I will show them how to face the enemy in the next battle." He wore ■ a conspicuous white uniform, and led the soldiers until he was killed. V
