RUSSIANS RETIRING.
SUBSTANTIAL JAPANESE GAINS. - ENVELOPING THE RUSSIAN RIGHT. LONDON, October 13. It ie unofficially reported at Tokio that the Russians are retiring along the whole line. A Russian force near Perrichris wa» enveloped, and Iβ reported to have lost eight guns. LONDON, October 13. Field-Marshal Oyama reports that operations are progressing favourably. The centre and right between Taitscho and Hunho 'have made substantial gains. The former, on the 11th, captured two guns. General Kuroki'e left column has occupied the northern heights of Shaotakou, and continues to pursue the. enemy. The Japanese left is desperately struggling to envelop the Russian right. The Oriel, the sieter ship to the St. Petersburg, is at Toulon, equipping for hospital service in the Far East.
