Returns this week are likely to be fairly good, notwithstanding the mishap to the Nelson Creek Company's machinery, which delayed her for two and a half days. A company is being formed to work the Kangaroo dredge on Slab Hut Creek, which is near Maori Gully, and from which very good returns were got in the early days. In spite of the fact that yesterday wae the wor.<»t day of the winter, the sale of ■work organised by the Anglican Church people, in aid of St. , Mary'e Home for Girls, realised £153. In compliance with the demands of the Government the Corporation to-day started to break up the recently laid tramway track in front of the General Post Office, and will relay it in accordance with the requirements of the Order in Council. The cost of this little mistake, undertaken in order to oblige the Harbour Board and oxpressmen who used the shelter shede at the foot of the wharf, is estimated at something like three or four hundred pounds. . - • To Cure Dog Ailments.
