The Eight Hour Celebration took place in beautiful weather. Great crowds witnessed tbe procession of the Societies through the principal streets to the Exhibition Grounds, where sports were held. Speaking at the luncheon, Mr Watson said he appreciate- the extent of tbe grave responsibility he had undertaken in forming a Ministry. He waa well aware of the inexperience both of himself and of some of those who would be associated with him, but they would strive their utmost to justify the confidence placed in them. He asked to be excused saying more on the political situation.
