Ward:— "Ton will be pleased to know that tha British Postmaster-General has agreed, npon the representations of New Zealand, to deliver oar country's papers throughout the United Kingdom at the rate of one penny per paper, irrespective of weight. This will take effeot from the Ist of March next. This is a* great step forward, ana one which should be of general benefit to the colony as a whole. It must largely increase the number of newspapers posted, and as this colony produces unsurpassed illnstrated weekly papers, it should be a grea.tadrertislng medium, and tits means of bringing our colony's many natural attractions more generally before the outside world. We now have this great reform agreed to by the United Kingdom and Canada, and I hope this is but the forerunner of its general adoption by all postal oountries.--J. G. Ward." Sir Joseph Ward further says :— " The Imperial Post Office desire it to be made clear that the newspapers must be posted in Now Zealand, and postage prepaid in the oolony. This, of course will be done, as the request is contained in the advices from the Imperial Office."
