The Blackwater River Company s -return last week shows that although the gold undoubtedly runs to the top. boundary, poor bars will be crossed at various points. The Blackwater Lagoonß Company's dredge continues cutting its way down to the Blackwater River Company's wash. It 'will be a month yet before she gets there. Information regarding the dredging industry in the Ross district is discouraging. The whole of the dredges there are" more or less in trouble, which will take time and money to get lid of. The Pactolu* Company s dredges, which are working towards Try Again terrace, where" much gold is expected, should have had better yields last week. The Aldinga Company's dredge is still under water, but it is expected that she will be up this week. The Jamieson's Reward Company's dredge will, get a start about the commencement of the month. The Notown Creek Company's return was got cutting across the top of the claim. The amount sot is not quite satisfactory. The Notown No. 2 Company's dredge will get a start in a month. The Three Mile Greenstone Company s dredge is now on a good wide face, but the wash is hard and rough. The Greenstone Junction Company's dredge is working on improving ground. The Greenstone Creek Company's dredge is still under repairs. _ The new Greenstone dredge is not clearing expenses. Tailings on the Stafford-Wahnea Company s claim are proving a terrible handicap. The Totara Flat Company's wash is improving. There was a drop in shares on Saturday, every , line but Nelson Creeks being at the limit.
