THE CROSSLEY CONCERT.
Miss Ada Crossley will givo her only concert in Christchurch at the Canterbury Hall to-night. The opening number of the programme will be "Caro Mio Ben," Giordani's beautiful'air, whicii Miss Crossley sang at Buckingham Palace on July 3rd by special request of lier Majesty the Queen. The lat* Queen Victoria also asked Miss Crossley to sing this number at Balmoral Castle. Another famous number which Miss Crossley will give this evening is "Oh, that we two were maying," which has been received with extraordinary enthusiasm everywhere. Altogether, Miss Crossley will sing seven important selections this evening t including Chaminade's "The silver ring," Willeby"s "Tlie four-leaved clover," and German's "Love the podler." In addition to the paramount attraction of the great contralto, Mr J. C. Williamson has provided support of high artistio character in tne celebrated basso Mr W. A. Peterkin, the brilliant young Australian pianist, Mr Percy Grainger, and Mr Jacobs, the distinguished young Belgian violinist who created quite a sensation during the recent Patti concerts in England.
