A number of extra, hind* were inunediately put on to lower the level of tha dam, ar.d the dredgemaster expected to have the vessel raised by thin morning The report that the Creenstor.* Junction Company's dredge had got into deep ground beyond the capacity of the ladder in somewhat misleading, ihe ground in one corner of the paddock dipped some-whit, but the bottom rose subsequently, and can be reached at hII parts cow. The Blackwater Lagoons Company got 31oz Mwt for 12J hours' work. The. dredge ia working back in the direction of the creek, but it will be eight or ten months before she reaches there. The stretch of ground between the present petition of working and the creek is expected to give K«oel average returns with very good returns in a portion of the ground. The Nelson Creek Company's dredge, whicii pet C'Joz, iif still working away from the rich deposit, and it will take longer to work there than was expected. Tlie Bullcr Junction Company's dredge wil 1 "be laid tip for a few days to put on a. new screen, ll is expected she will get a fresh start on Monday.
