In the match Lyttelton Methodist. Cricket Club—New Brighton 0.0., the former in their first innings compiled 101 (H. Cook 20, Stewart, 18, E. Foster 16, Chingue 13). New Brighton replied with 44 (Evans 12, Haynea 17 not out), the Methodists thus winning "by 57 runs. E. Cook and Stewart (five wickets each) bowled best for the winners, and Watson and Evans for New Brighton. The match was played on the cricket ground at Bligh's Gardens, New Brighton. (special to "the press.") DUNEDIN, November 2. The first of the seasons cricket matches were finished on Saturday, when Grange beat Opoho by 273 to 73. In the second innings Grange put up 133 for seven wickets (Baker 42). Carisbrook B beat Carisbrook A bv 87 to 85. Dunedin, with 290 (Moore 80," Vorreth 41 not out) defeated' Albion, who could only make 84 (Adams 25 not out). (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELKQRAM.) WELLINGTON, November 2. The Wellington Cricket Association tonight decided that it was unable to play Otago this season. Tlie Canterbury Association's suggestion that the dates reserved for the Wellington-Canterbury match be utilised for the Inter-Island match, and that the former game be played later on in the season on the return of the Canterbury men from Auckland, was not adopted.
