NEW SOUTH WALES BYE-ELECTION. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, October 28. The Assembly has passed two months’ supply. In tiie Legislative Council the Factories Act Amendment Bill was recommitted. The clause over which the deadlock arose, making tho Wages Board apply to all works, was restored, and, with the remaining clauses, was carried. "[Received October 29th, 12.39 a.m.) SYDNEY, October 28. Alf the Glen Lines bye-clection| Mr Thomas, the Oppositionist, defeated the M/nisterial candidate by a large majority. Mr Thomas is pledged to the reform programme. In the Assembly the Treasurer, refusing to reply to a question with reference to leasing certain land for the erection of Savings Bank offices, Mr Carruthers gave notice for to-morrow of a resolution disapproving of the agreement. The Government refused to accept this as a motion of censure. The Council rejected the Regulation of Wages in Coal Mines Act.
