Improbable starters are Agitator and Quandong FLEMING TON TRAINING NOTES. United. Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. FLEMINGTON, October 27. On the inside sand track this morning Flagship was sent, a strong gallop over a mile and a quarter, the last mile of which was left behind in lmin 47sec. On the course proper and fourteen yards cut. Fishery beat 1‘ lovin by ten lengths in a live furlong flutter, the former finishing in lmin Gfsec, which is a record for this particular gallop. RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES. Tuesday Morning. The work done early this morning was almost entirely confined to tho plough track which was fast. Aherlow finished in front of Ragabrash at the end of six furlongs, which occupied lmin 23sec. Treadmill, looking well, went at three-quarter pace alone, and the same task was allotted to His stable companion. Quarryman. Cannie Chiel moved resolutely over a mile in lmin 46sec. Windwhistle and Golden Vein covered seven furlongs, the first-named finishing in front in limn 33scc. Lavalette, by himself, strode over a mile in lmin 44isec. Stepdancer, Firebrand, The Mohican, and Muscovite were associated in a five furlong spin. Red Gauntlet, looking hearty and well, moved freely over six furlongs in lmin 19sec. Bravo Heart and Djin Djiu ran a mile in lmin 48sec, the filly finishing in front. Secret Society moved freely over seven furlongs, but he was going easily, and the time was lmin 35 2-sth sec. Wairiki’s mission, as usual, was comfortable work. Ho is looking well, but was not asked to do anything of a searching nature. Khaki worked at half pace. Purdey trotted and cantered on the cinders. Canteen and Pallas were associated over a mile and a quarter, finishing together in 2min 15sec. Pallas), who was sore after racing at the Hutt, is improving. Leonore and Roscommon ran a mile and a half, the firstnamed easily accounting for her opponent in 2min 45jsec. Zealous finished in front of King Stork in a strongly run mile and a quarter. Nell Gwyn cantered, and spurted home. Rockleigh went (it three-quarter pace once round. Lolah, who js evidently much improved, galloped six furlongs in attractive style in lmin ISsec. Roseal had no companion in his work over a mile and a half. It wa3 evident from the start that the gallop was a searching one, as he was sent along at top for the first part of the journey, and he accomplished a milo and a quarter a tick under 2min ISsec, and the full distance in 2min 42Jsec. The colt did not finish too well, but this may be acounted for by the fact that he made the pace very fast at the start, but after he pulled up he was not distressed. The gallop, therefore, must he recorded as a good one, and the best of the morning. Gist cantered mid finished up strongly. Wonderful and Cfiain Guard finished fast over six furlongs, (he former being a length in front at the finish. Antigone and Bayonet performed useful work. Gladsome, looking well, cast seven furlongs behind comfortably ill lmin 34isec. Juniper held an advantage oyer Narcissus over seven furlongs, run in lmin 33sec. Kelburn was not on the track. He is sore as tho result of galloping on the Hutt course. After bVeakf&st the course proper, which was hard and fast, was thrown open for the two-year-olds. The first lot to run down wcto Silkworm, Savoury, Rubia, Golden Lily, Quickfire, and Paroro. They were not fully extended) and ran half a mile in 64scc, Silkworm finishing four lengths in front, but those behind him were easing off, and it was quite apparent that at least one behind, notably Golden Lily, could have gone faster. _ Quickfire also, in tho first part of the journey, showed some paco. King’s Guest, Stronghold, and Signalman ran half a mile at three-quar-ter pace, finishing together. Tessera, Euterpe, and Chryseis ran half a mile at threequarter pace. On the plough Asteria and Lady Lyonors worked steadily. Mr Stead’s youngsters spurted a second time, and were joined by Zecchino and Zetland, but they were not fully extended, and Zetland finished in front. The last-named is a fine, well-grown colt. Tho following horse 9 arrived at Riccarton this morning:—Shrapnel, Ringman, Heroism, Royal Fusilier, Madrigal, Idea, Bandmaster, Provost Marshal, Menura, Forest Ranger, Chant, Comfort, and Creusot. GORE RACING CLUB. A start will he made with the Gore Racing Club’s Spring Meeting to-day, ’and it will be concluded to-morrow. NOTES. Kelburn did not make his appearance on the tracks «t Riccarton yesterday morning, and it became known that he was very sore on tho hind fetlock joint. There are doubts about liis starting for the New Zealand Cup, Pallas was in evidence at Riccarton yesterday morning, when he workfe with Canteen, and moved freely, but his off fore leg has filled to an extent that has caused his trainer some anxiety. After his gallop with Canteen he moved off the course freely, and is evidently in good heart, so that hopes are entertained that he will fulfil his engagements at the forthcoming meeting. The following came from Wellington by tho Mararoa yesterday:—Shrapnel, Ringman, Heroism, Royal Fusilier, Madrigal, Idea, Menura, Provost Marshal, Bandmaster, Forest Ranger, Chant, Comfort, Creusot.
