POLICE COURT.
Messrs J. Connell and J. Hay, J.P.s, presided at the Police Court yesterday. DRUNKENNESS. Felix O'Connor, who had two previous convictions against him, was fiiK'd 10s. Patrick Ryan £1, Thomas Richards £1, Albert Kelly £1, and Joseph Trendor 10s Seven male first offenders were fined 5s each. One female first offender was iinetd ss, and another convicted and discharged. ALLEGED ASSAULT AND ROBBERY. Michael O'Malley. William Murray, and Joseph Coates appeared upon a joint charge of having, on April 25th. at- Chriatchurch, stolen from the person of Love Guinness, a puree valued at Is, and £2 in money, and at the same time having used personal violence towards the tsaid Love Guinness. Upon the application of Chief Detective Chrysta) the accused were remanded till Wednesday. - AN OPIUM CASE. John Doyley was charged with removing opium at Lytte'ton suitable for smoking, with intent to evade the prohibition against the importation of opium. The accused was remanded for a day, at the request of Mr Stringer, who appeared for the Collector uf Customs.
