YORKSHIRE SOCIETY.
The fiftli annual meeting'was held oa Tuesday last, in tlie Oddfellows' Chamber!. The balance-sheet showed a. credit b-Unps of £3 3s 3d. and assets £71 3s 3d, with liabilities nil. The election of officer*- ft* suited us follows:—President, Sir Joh_ Hall; vice-presidents, Messrs. A. , E. Q. Rhodes, Geo. Pickles, W. Smithson, E. Clarkson, and H. Stewart; oonunittse, Messrs R. Gabites, C. Dixon, E. Haley, A. E. Bradley, W. Mapplebeck, W. Robsoni W. J. Walmsley, J. Higgin_> A. 6. Hill, E. W. Gabites; trustee, Mr Geo. Pickle*; auditors, Messrs Geo. Swarm and A. _. Hill % secretary and treasurer, Mr L. *P_c_«r. Ths Chairman drew attention to the, wintec programme, which opens with a social sad dance on sth May, to which the officers and crew of sjj. Morning have been invited, the Yorkshire members of the crew of that vessel having been made honorary members of the society during her stay in Port. A vote of regret at the loss*sustained by the death cf the vice-president, the late Hon. W. Rolleston, and one of sympathy with his family was passed, all the members standing.
