At the kauri sales there was a strong demand; 2290 cases were offered and 1600 oases were sold, three-quarter scraped realising £140 a ton. Hemp is firm; good Wellington March shipments £32 10s per ton, April shipments £31 10s per ton, May shipments £30 10s per ton. At the sheep skin sales 4700 skins wen offered, and met with keen competition. The bulk sold at about 5 per cent. Abo?» the prices ruling at the March sales.
