WALTHAM.
The annual meeting of householders in the Walt-ham district was presided over by tMr J. B. Sim. Mayor of iSvdenham.
Mr G. Y. Harvey, chairman of ?!'-• School Comm'ttee, read the annual r port, which showed that the sdiool h.-.d made gre.vt progress. Tlie record of tho pa** year, both as regards numbers ar.rt efficiency of the school, was a success! i:! one. The Inspectors had reported mo' favourably <>n the"school, and gave cotrii.i" T.raise to the staff of teachers. There hail been a decided increase in attendance. At tha beginning of the year the roll number ."was 526, and the average attendance was 444. ,At the close the numbers were respectively 565 and 470. The future prospects of the school were considered very jatisfnetorv.
The bolanew-sheet showed an expenditure S>f £121 5s on incidentals, and a *b-"au , :e of XDI6 3s 6d was left on band.
The report and balance-sheet were adopted.
