OPENING UP OF NATIVE LANDS.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEOBAI..) GISBORNE, April 19. At the Farmers' Conference, the speakers urged that further steps should be taken to open up native lands, and it was resolved to ask two members of the Terawhiti Maori Council to resign, as a protest against their inactivity. The East Coast Native Trust Board propose throwing open 2000 acre* at an early date.
