PARISH MEETINGS.
ST. ALITTOEW'S, «ST. ALBANS. The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Matthew's, St. Albans, was held in the schoolroom last evening. The vicar (Rev. H. (William*) presided. The vicar, in his statement of the year's work, made special reference to the alterations and additions to the church, and to the assistance given in the work. During the year there had been 33 baptisms in the church, 12 confirmations, and 13 marriagea. The several communicants had totalled 1158, being an increase of 200 on the preceding year. The Sunday school was working efficiently, and the day school showed an increase in attendance with 56 names on the roll. Tho churchwardene' report and balancesheot vw presented by Messrs Frank Robins ?.cd A. J. Nicholte. The statement showed r»»ceipts for the year £328 Is 3d, and expenditure £315 lls 7d, leaving a credit, balance of £12 9s Bd. Mr A. J. Nicholls was re-elected parishLiners' churchwarden, acd Mr J. B. May ho clergyman's churchwarden. The followin£ v«v«try wa.« elected:—Messrs W. BoVc-r, Sherwood, T. Allen,, A. Ir.nes, T. Prii-v. J. Dti Feu, and T. Gordon. Mr W. H. Cheeseman was re-elected auditor, and Mr and Mrs Francis, Mr and Mrs Ltligh, and Mr Nicholls re-elected as School Committee. • A social gathering was ESld afterwards.
