BUTTERFLY HATS.
A novel and rather horrible feature of the new millinery this season, it is reported in London, will ihe the new butterfly hats. These butterflies are exported largely freira India and South America., and the wings are taken off anel prepared bo as to stiffen them, before remounting on artificial bodies. The shading of the wings remains unaltered, and some of the colourings are gloriously rich and deep. "BIG FIGURES FROM THE STATES. According to the Bureau of Statistics, Ihe internal commerce of the United States amounts to four billions sterling, equal to the entire international commerce of the world. Its manufactures are nearly double these of Great Britain, and are nearly equal to those of France, Germany, • and Russia combined.
