THE ELINOAMITE'S TREASURE
(rEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, March 28. Tanner, the diver, after visiting the wreck of the Elingamite in the steamer Kiiergy, on behalf of the London Salvage Company, obtained new diving gear, and leaves immediately to continue operations, ■which it is anticipated will probably iesult hi the recovery of the last specie! The Energy anchored immediately over the wreck, and fixed the locality by (sinking a charge of dynamite, the explosion bringing a portion of the wreck and much frotli nnd corks, indicating tlje breaking up of the (bottled liquor. Tanner is rather reticent on certain points, but states that no difficulty will be experienced in locating the wreck. Hβ landed on the island in immediate proximity to the wreck with the gear. He found several good landings, and expresses surprise that the whole of the Elingamite people were not put ashore where the Elingamite struck
