Aspinall (Temuka), «ndi Mr llollitt (Ashburton), arrived by the express from the South, last night. Mr A. Baxter, Mr F. Pot re, Mr and Mrs Kinvcss White (Napier), Mr G. Robinson (Tinjaru)-, Mr G. and Mr Newman arrived in town yesterday. Mr H- Ford, Mrs John Williams and Miss Williams went South by the express yes-U-itday morning. Mr" Duncan Rutherford went to Hanmer yesterday. Mr B. B. Orange Heft yesterday morning for the West Coa»t. Mr J. Nevin Tait, agent for Mdlle. Dolori-s, left for Dun&din by the express yesterday. Mr .1. H. S'yme, Mr O. J, Syme, Mr A. B. Robinson* and Mr Robert Crawford, the Victorian journalists w]ii> are touring th'rt colony, arrived frorru Huniner last night. On Wednesday they leave) for tJie West Co:ist, and intend coaching from Greymouth to Nelson. Mr L. Caselberg, Mr 'E. J. Finoh, and Mr O. J. Reakes left for Wellington by bixt night's steamer. Constables Grace, Dell, Bostend, and Waa-d have arrived! in this city from Wellington to fill the vacancies in the local police force caused, by transfers during the lust few months. Mr and Mis J. W. Jago, of Dunedin, are 'in town, en route to Auckland, and leave for the North this evening. Mr T. K. Donne, of the Tourist Department, and Mr TiJlnuui, of the Public Works Department, proceeded by the North tuiiii to Culverdwi yesterday, en rouUj for Hanmer. Mr and 1 Mrs Leicester Matson were passengers by the Nortih train yesterday on a. visit to Leslie iHilla. Mr O. R. Nazer was on Saturday the recipient of a handsome gold sovereign case a n<l match box from the employees of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-orrerativo Association, on his severing his connection with the firm to take up a more 'lucrative appointment ,in Wellington.
