Tho north-east portion of the town is under water to a depth of three or four feet. The latest news from Townsville states that the. weather i.s clearing. The flood la.st night was not po serious jus was anticipated, although all the country beyond the cauwwny is submerged and nil traffic, including tho railway, suspended, owing to a wash-away. There is much distress.
