MAGISTRATES STRATES' COURTS.
♦ CIVIL CASES. At the Magistrate's Cjyirt yesterday the following business was dealt with by Mr R* Beet_am, S.M. : — Judgment for tho plaintiffs by default with costs wa.s given in the following 1 cases:—Black, Beattie, and Co. (Mr Widdowson) v Alexander Joyce, claim £2 4s 6d. the Cyclopaedia Company. Limited (Mr Flesher) "v Johnstone, £1 8s; Henry Berry and Co. (Mr Flesher) v John Halkett,*£l7 15s 3d; same, v Fritz Eispelder. 10s 9d; Mason, Strurhers, and Co. and Butler Bros. (Mr R_wkk) v S* Jones, £3 13s 6d; A. W. Fielder (Mr Harper) v Edith A. Postgate, £21 ; G. Shaw and Co. v T. Haidie. £5 9s\*" W. Strange and Co. (Mr Flesher) v Robert, Eco'.es, £11 3s ; Electrical Indicator Company (Mr Cowli_lvaw) v R. A. Rudder, £9"; Whiteombe and Tombs v P. K. Laramen, £3 9«. Clarke and Co. (Mr Weston) sued J. Hughes for £1 17a 8d for good supplied. Judgment for defendant with costs. John Hayes (Mr Malley) v Thos. Mara—l (Mr Wilding), a claim for £50 and a counter claim, were adjourned to March 16th. The case Thos. A. Alsop v John Wells (Mr Leathern), olaim £6 7s, was again adjourned till March 16th, with costto the defendant. In the cases Mason, Struther-, and Co. nnd Butler Bros. (Mr Beswick) v J. Evans, £1 6s, a claim for goods supplied in assigned estate of T. Parish, of Springfield; same vJ. Field, 17s 8d ; same v Thos. Searle (Mr Cassidy), £5 Os 7d; same v Richard Smith, 16s 3d, after hearing evidence judgment was given for tho defendants with costs, with leave to the plaintiffs to appeal. In the case of Healing and Co. (Mr Widdowson) v T. Sheareby (Dunedin), .£l9 16s 3d, a disputed account for goods supplied, judgment was given for the plaintiffs with cost-.
