ARRANGEMENTS COMPLETED WITH CONTRACTORS.

The concession for a railway to Bagdad was first granted to the Anatolian Kailway Company in 1893, but negotiations were not finally completed until, on January 16th of 1902, the Ottoman Cabinet Council approved tho Convention for the railway concluded by the Grand Vizier and tlie Minister of Public Works with the company, and m-ommended it to the Sultan's .sanction. The Government accepts all the conditions of the company, including the amount of tiie kilonietiic guarantee, fixed at 15.5001., plum 4500f. for working expenses. The concession is for 99 years. The whole section, fioni Konia to Ba.dad is divided into sections of 200 kilometres, and must be computed within eight years.
