EVACUATION BY THE PORTE. United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. (Received February ~l7th, 10.47 s»Ja.) CONSTANTINOPLE, February 16. The Porte has ordered the Turkish troops to evacuate the disputed Aden Hinterland. Owing to Turkish attempts to enforce her hitherto non-existent rule over to* tribes in the hinterland of Aden, tha British Government was obliged some tim*. ago to take action. It had to chase o& her territory—occupied by the rlanwhadi tribes—* large number of natives who had fortified a blockhouse, and who were, it was atooofly suspected at the time, backed by Turfcish regular troops. For this purpose, is July, 1901, a mixed force of 600 men, British and Indian, with guns, moved out from Aden, and some sharp fighting took plaos, in which the British lost four killed sad six wounded, and the enemy some score. Thereafter a Commission was appointed to aelimit the boundary, the head of tie* British mission being Colonel Wahab. Eaok side brought the necessary escort. This was many months Ago, bat for a long time practically nothing whatever was done. Parts of the frontier ana not la dispute; others are. Great Britain coaUssided that the former should first be- dealt with, and that the. latter, being oocopiad meantime by neither party, should be tha subject of later consideration To this the Turks dissented. They did not deal vim the undisputed sections, and they oabtiy indue)d the native tribes not only to 00----cupy the doubtful territory, but some wtsioß unquestionably belongs to Britain. Great Britain made many protest* a* Constantinople, The Porte wa* pppfusv 111 promises, but until now did nothing.
