A very largo number of people were present, and a record attendance" of Highlanders end pipers. Following- are the results: — lOOjias— First hest: A. Watts. F. McCulloch 2. Four others ran. Draffm 2. \V. Tierney 3. When just turning the first bond Nattrass fell. Lloyd end Draffia were leading when the post was paseed for the first time. From that point Llojd took the lead, and, although closely pursued by Draffin, won by a couple of wheels, W. Tierncy getting thud place. High Jump Championship—Toro (sft sin) 1. C. From a. good- start the field raced together over the first hurdle, but at that point Watts drew ahead, and, jumping beautifully, maintained his lead At tho last hurdle Murray came at the leading men, but could not get abreast of him, Watt* winning with a couple of yarda to spare. While doing a preliminary Murray had the misfortune, to strike has knee. Consequently he was 6Omowhat handicapped. Time, 17 2-Sth. sec. lOOyda Flat Handicap (amateur}—T. &tubbs (3yds) 1, E. J. Williams (Byds) 2. T B. Slipper (7yds) 3. Ten started. For breaking away the scratch man (B. Webster) was penalised two yards behind scratch. Stubbs ran a, fine race, and won with about three-quar-ters of a yard to spare. Time, 10 l-sth see. Puttin" tho Shot Championship—Larleon (42ft Bin) 1, McDowell 32ft 4£tn 2, Frew (31ft) 3. The men were sent away well, r.nd ran together to the back of the course, where Fnrrie end Patterson made an effort to take the lead. At the ringing of tho lap bell there we-re only Smith and Ward left Keube being hopelessly out of it, while Spuxdle bed thrown up the eponge. Smith, made * great race for the last quarter, and, though tn 3 opponent waa some 50 yards behind him, finished with a splendid sprint.
