The Bank of England returns published to-day show the stock of coin, etc., to be £31,164,000, reserve £__,462,000, proportion of reserve to liabilities 46.15, notes in circulation £29,061,000. Public deposits £8,638,000, other deposits £39,264,000. Government securities £16,416,000, other securities £26,891,000. Three months bills are discounted at 3j per cent. ..^ Consols, 93^. New South Wales and Victorian 3£ per cents. 102, South Australian 3 per cents. 93i, Western Australian 34 per cents. 101. Other stocks are unclianged. The wheat markets are quiet and steady ; Continental are slightly firmer. Cargoes are neglected; Californian November-De-cember shipment, 30s 3d. Copper—Spot £51 10s. three months £51 3s 9d. Tin—Spot £117 .three months £115 15s. Iron—s6s 6d. Lead—£lo 15s. The imports last month were 21,497 tons, including 4514 Australian. The exports were 4941 tons. Spelter £19 lis 3d.
