TIMARU.

Our Timaru correspondent reports as follows on the Timaru grain and produce markets: —

The firm tendency noted on the market, last week is still maintained, and during the week some extra prime lines of wheat have exchanged -hands at 4s 3d per bushel. This has only been obtained in a few cases, but 4s 2d is readily obtainable for prime, bright samples. Chickwheat is much in request, and the veriest rubbish is easily disposed of at from 8s to 9s per sack, whilst best realises from 12s to 14s. The business in oats is limited, but values remain firm at last week's quotations. The demand from Sydney for potatoes has put new life into the market here, and this esculent is now connnanding from £3 5s to £4 per ton.
