ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
(Mass ASSOCIATION _________:._ WELLINGTON, May 20. A three -year-old child named Ivy Dutton, living with her parents at Raumai, near Palmer-ton North, died from burns occasioned by her nightdress catching fire. Tha mother was absent milking, and the child by soma- means got pc__e__ion of. a lighted candle.
Yesterday G. E. Bentley, who » well known in Ohristcliurdi and Lyttelton, came from town to the port, and went on to the Canterbury Hotel,' where he asked for a glass of brandy. As he was evidently in a kind of fit his request was refused. A doctor was sent for, and meantime Mrs Caanpbell __ rown attended to him. On the arrival of Dr. Upham he ordered Bentley_ removal to the casual ward, where he mode a speedy recover}'.
