(special to "the _?B_SS.") DUNEDIN, May 20. Dr. O'Neill, of the Sixth Contingent, pays a high tribute to Captain Fred Tucker,., of Ashburton, who had formerly been a,_ul>aCtern, in the Third Contingent. He joined the Sixth in Africa, having been wounded at Rhenoster Eap while with the Third, and had very trying experience,, being left on the field the whole day and half the night. Capfafe Tucker was one of the most popuof the column, and had charge of the Otago men, who would have followed him anywhere. . Dr..O'Neill described the captain as having a pa_6ic_l_}*ly good eye for country,, and as being conspicuous for ability, both in camp dud in the field. Lieut. C.
