The remarks made by the Mayor on Wednesday night in regard to the establishment of a (greater Dunedin, have had the desired effect in awakening a considerable amount of interest in the subject both in the city and suburbs. With a view to further stimulating public interest, and at the same time of giving full opportunity for ventilation of the subject, the Mayor (Mr Park) proposes to invite suggestions and jyoposals dealing with the matter. For the b«=t of these a first prize of £10 10s. and for the stcond £5 ss. will be awarded. * Condition* will be drawn up. and a committee of judges appointed to decide on the merits of the schemes submitted.
