(PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, Mny 19. The Agent-General, in a cab.c dated London, May 17th, says:—"Tiie mutton market is quiet, with no change in (he prices of mutton and lamb. Beef is quiet, Xevr Zfealand hinds s£d, fores 4£d. The markets for butter and cheese are good. Hemp is steady at £36, June-August shipmems £32. There is a better demand for cocksfoot seed; New Zealand 17.b standard 485." The New Zealand Loan and MercantileAgency has received the following London cable,'dated 16tkMay. 1902:—"Wool— The salesprogress firmly. Since the opening of the .sates there has been an average advance of about 12j per cent, on last sales' closing rates for medium au-J inferior greasy merino and medium crossbred, and about 7j per cent, for slipe crossbred."
