The Governor, accompanied by Capfala Alexander and Captain Boscawen, A.D.C., paid an official visit to the Admiral on board the flagship Royal Arthur, at Auckland, yesterday. The Countess of Raefurty, accompanied by : Ladies Constance and Eileen Knox, Misa Allan Richmond, and the Hon. H. C. Butler, A.D.C., Wellington, arrived in Auckland from Wairara'pa, yesterday morning.
The Hon J. M. Twomey, M.L.C., Mr P..R. Flatman, M.H.R., Mr T. Parata, M.H.R., and Mr Justice Williams, went South by yesterday morning's express.
The Hon, H. K. Taioroa, M.L.C., left for Southbridge by yesterday's train. Mr Roes, the assistant nuaster o? the Lyttelton. school, whose resignation was received yesterday, has be«i in the school as headmaster and assistant master since 1872.
Among the passengers from the South by last night's express, were Messrs D. LeCren, R. Ferguseon. W. Moir; A. A. Thornton. W. (J. Stead, H. F. RoberU, Dr. Drew, »nd Captain Pennycook. Mr and Mrs Brace Lloyd (America), Messrs W. Findlay, J. Stevenson, Haigb. and Wilkinson, arrived in town yest*rdav.
