■>» 'MEETING OP THE G-ENEBAL COMMITTEE. The ordinary meeting- of the General Committee of the Association -was held yesterday. Dr. Levinge, the President, occupied ftilie chair. ■ Accounts to tihe amount of £200 0s lid ■were passed for payment. The resignations of Mr P. Duncan (who is leaving for England) and of Mr B. N. Beaiey were received. It was reserved 'to ask Mr R. Jf. Beaky to repreenfc t!he Association at -the meeting. Mr Birch wrote, suggesting that joint adtion should be taken by the Associations of Ijhe colony to.approach the' Imperial Government with a view of appointing a buyer of cavalry liorses, and also -that prizes should (be offered at the different centres for troop horses, where :tfhe buyer for the 'imperial Government could attend. The Ccnnmatts-e decided to refer the matter to ftlie 'Horse Conwnitltee to fering np a report at next meeting. Mr Murphy notified tlhat the annual Conference of representatives of tihe Agricultural and IBastoral Associations of the colony waved bs held in Dunedin during the Winter ©how of the Otago A. and P. Association, June 25th and 27th. The President and Mr D. D. tMacfarlane (vicepresident) were elected as delegates. On the motion of Mr Macferlane, it was also resolved that c, committee should be appointed to draw up instructions for the delegates. Sir George, Clifford, Messrs Deans, Overton, Staveley, Ohamlberlain, I and R. They also considered ' tiwui *ihe presenib oval should <be enlarged Ito atbout twice tihe present size; that the present judging rings be done away with, and the judging done in the large oval in front of the stand. Anderson, that tie matter of enlarging the oval, etc., be referred to the Ground, Parade, nnd Horse Committees, witlh power to act. The following were elected as members of the Association:-—Messrs George Mangels C• F. C. ■ "Wilson, D. G. Monrad, George McKay, H. W. Bridge, J. Boag, jun.. and Donald Cameron.
