CHRISTCHURCH PROHIBITION LEAGUE.
The report submitted at the annual meeting of the Christehurch Prohibition League referred to the meetings lu-ld in order to' protest against the proposals embodied in the Licensing Act Amendment Bill. ■ FortyOne new members had joined during tiie year. Reference was mttds to the loss the XeagUe'had sustaind in the death of two""of its oldst members, Mr T. Ciarirson and Mr H. Wise. The renort also c-xpres&ed sympathy with the-prohibition party'throughout the colony-for the loss it had in the dteaths of the Revs H. C. M. 'Watjsoh and,W. 0. Woodward, and) Mr, oeo. Urant. • The , -treasurer's report showed a substantial credit balance. Ihe elections resulted as follows:—President, Mr H. G. EU, M.H.R.; vice-presidents, Miss . Roberts, Rev. C. Ward, Messrs A. IT. Morrison, R.. Spiers, T. E. Taylor; treasurer, Mr R. B. Ellison; assistant-treasurer. Mr J. Mo Comb; secretary, Miss C. Henderson; as-, sistant secretary, Miss B. Henderson; and - a Committee of twelve members.
