At the tallow sales 1075 casks were feffered and 750 sold; fine mutton 34s 6d, medium 50s 6d; fine beef 54e 9d, medium 31s. The Colonial Consignment and Distributing Company, Limited, have received the following cable message from London: — "Frozen Meat Market—Canterbury mutton 3|d, North Island mutton 2|d, first quality iamb 4W, second quality lamb 4id-"* Messrs Dalgety and Company, Limited, bare received thja following cable message from their London office, under date ■December 18th: —"Since out last telegram prime mutton tallow is higher by 3d to 6.1 per cwfc. Other descriptions are unchanged. Prices are in favour of sellers." The next public sales of tallow "will be •held on January Bth." The N.Z..Farmers' Co-operative Association of Canterbury, Limited, is in receipt of the following cable message from its London agent, under date 18th inst: — '-N.Z. .wheat—Market on Mark Lane is lifeless; no demand; sellers at 28s 9d per quarter of 4961b ex store.
