CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. A meeting of the Committee of the Canterbury Cricket Association was held at Warner's Hotel Mb night Preeeat— Messrs O. CaygiU (in the. chair}, F. ,CL Raphael, T. Smith, R:, Vincent, and W. F. Oederwnil.. Hγ C. Clark, the secretary of the Haglejr Park Ground, wrote stating that has Committee would grant the use, of the ground for the Otag© match for £5 per cent, of .the proceeds. It was decided to thank, the Sagley Park Committee for their liberal terms, -which were accepted. The appointment of umpires for the Hawke's Bay mat<?h was left to a sub-committee. The Sydenham Borough Council wrote stating that they Council was endeavouring to attend to the complaints of the bad state of the cricket grounds in the Park. The letter was received. The proprietor of SLandel's Hotel,. Wellington, wrote expressing his appreciation of the. admirable manner in which tlfe Canterbury team had conducted themselves. He enclosed a cheque for £1 Is towards the funds of the Association. A* hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr ic&ndel for his subscription. It waa decided to suggest to the selector-of the Canterbury team in the CanterburyOtago matth that he choose his team Saturday night, Messrs Raphael, Vincent, and Craerwall were appointed a committee to make arrangements for "entertaining the Otago team.
A cablegram has been sent by M/ Wilmer. on behalf of the. Christchnrch Veterans' Olab, congratulating Mr MacLaren, captain of the English team, on the result of the match with the Australian team.
