Speaking at the first annual dinner of the Canterbury Society of Wellington, the Premier said the time was not far distant whan Christchnrch would be brought within six hours of Wellington. The importance. of these centres demanded it, and when, the North Trunk line was completed and a ferry service to Picfcon and a lice to Cheviot? completed, such a result would be obtained. .
