Trooper Tasker, the New Zealander who was sentenced in July to three years' imprisonment for sleeping at his post, and whose release was ordered by the King on the strength of a petition presented by Mr E. G. Jellicoe, will shortly be released on the King's intervention. Colonels Rimington and Wilson chased a Boer force 35 miles, compelling it to cross the Rhenoster River at Waterval, and capturing twenty-two, besides 375 horses, 3000 cattle, and 8000 sheep. The British occupation of Blaauwkop has deprived Louis Botha of his highest signalling station. ».
