THE KAURI TIMBER TRADE.
(SPECIAL TO "THE FBXSS.") AUCKLAND, Novermber 25. The news that the Australian Federal Government has been, prevailed upon to exempt all New Zealand/white pine from duty gives some room for hope that the agitation being carried on in Australia may yet lead to exemptions of advantage to the kauri timber trade. The work of revising the duties is, however, proceeding very slowly. Recent advices from those interested in the timber trade in Australia, state that the duties as affecting' kauri timber may not be reached till Christinas, when the Federal Parliament adjourns.
