The City Corps of tbe North Canterbury Infantry. .Battalion paraded on Tuesday evening, and marcbJed to Hagley Park, at here they ~ere exercised in attack drill as opposing half batta.ions. The parade slates were as follows:—City "Guards, under Lieutenant Bishop, 35; City Rifles, Captain Foster, 40; Sydenham Rifles, Lieutenant (Millar, 39; Civil Service Rifles, Captain Fisher, 40; Native Rifles, Captain Oakes, 48; Highland Rifles, Captain Stewart, 40; Linwood Rifles, Capbam Drayton, 44; Imperial Rifles, Lieutenant Mathias, 45; Col ege Rifles, Captain Harper, 41; Cycle Corps, Lieutenant Finhis, 19; Bearer Corps, Sergeant-Major Woo<.lams, 30; Garrison Band, Sergeant Mitchell. 26. The Battalion Staff consisted of Lieutenant-Colonel Day, Major Cresswell, Acting-Captain and Adjutant Merlon, Ser-geant-Majnr Steere, and Quartermaster»Scrgo.int Batche'or. "Captain xiing'ey represented the District Staff. At the. conclusion of the manasiivres the Battalion marched back to the Drill Shed Grounds by way of Armagh 1 , Colombo, and Cashe. streets. The North Canterbury Mounted Rifles fired a match at 600 yds last Saturday for a series of prizes, xne following were tbe highest scorers; —Troopers Heney 23, Barrett 22, Sergeants Tyler 21, (Jeorge 21, Bugler Coryrom 21, Captain Cosgrove 20. j
