A Boer named Lewis was. tried and shot at Potchefsfcroom for complicity in the murder o^'two surrendered soldiers, and also with connection with the murder of Kaffirs at Freberakstad. The Canadian Scouts, after a sharp fight, captured a laager containing food and ammunition and several Boers, north-wert of Balmoral. A local force fought Van Zyl's commando in rough country eastward of Vryburg from dawn to noon on the 18th. Four were killed, including two rebels, and several were wounded. Nine Boers captured at Buffabhoek on the 16th included Vanderwaet, the kite Landdroeb oi Parys.
