LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN. A meeting of the League of Wheelmen Council was held last evening. Present— Messrs- W. G. Atack (chairman), J. H. Parker, G. E. Good, A. B. Kirk, and B. P. Gully. A letter was received from the Premier regretting that he could not hold out any hope of a vote of money by the Government to the League far cycling sports' championship meetings being passed this session. The Auckland <3enta» of the LeagiM wrote stating that it had been decided to write to the League Council asking whether both sections (amateur and 'cash riders) might compete in an open road race, or if it was necessary to ob,tain the Council's permission to ride:.
