SIRST. S. MANXERINO. X«ws was received yesterday br . cable , oiessago of the death at Clifton. Eflgland. of Mrs Mannering, wife of ilr T. S. Manboth of whom are well leno-wn in Canterbury. 51r« Mannering was married in England, and came out to fiiis colony with her husband, who had been previously in the colony,- in 1858, and resided for some time at Motuefca. Afterwards Mr Mannenng settled at Birch Hill and Fernand at tJ» latter place Mrs Manneriog conducted a girls' school. For three year* or so ebe had charge of. a similar iMtittttion *t Summer, At tike cod of that period the Manneringa went to lire at ; Greta. Veto, Tβ Papa Valley. L«ss then two | yeaTs ago Mr and Mrs Mannering left on their third trip to England. Mrs Mannering, the newe of whose death will be received with feelings jof regret by her numerous friends, was a sister of Mr George Buckham, for many years postmaster at Ranjriora. Two of Mrs Manoering's daughters are married, o»e to Mr Herbert Brown, of Mount Thomae, and the other to Mr C. H. Inglis. representative of several farmei-s* co-operative aseociations in London.. Mrs . Mannering's only/ son is qf tb* Union Bank at Hastings,' Hawke's Bay.
