An unusually short order paper was laid, before the St.Albans Council last evening. Th« (Mr H. Davey) presided, and OrR. New-ton. Anderson. Morgan. Biixton. No policy had yet been taken cut to cover the engineer in accident, and the fire brigade members should also be insured. , The report was adopted, and the; Cl,erk was. instructed t f > insure the engineer immediately. Permission wa« requested to sell tlse two nonces owned by the Council, in order to get two others which should bo lighter and more suitxible for the steam rir* , engine. T,ha report was adwpbed. Rules and regulations driurn up for' the government of tha St. Albans Volunteer Fire Brigade were confirmed. The Foreman's and Pire, Prevention. Committee's reports, wer* adopted. After considering a quantity of formal'correspondence the Council adjourned.
